Winter Season
4 – 13 June 2026
Simon Phillips, one of Australia’s great stage directors, brings his hallmark clarity and velocity to Shakespeare’s wildest comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, on the Parade stage. In a world premiere commissioned by NIDA, Anthea Williams directs Keziah Warner’s Possessions, a taut new thriller in which grief, guilt and something beneath the floorboards refuse to stay buried. Miranda Middleton directs In Pieces, Joey Contreras’s queer-inclusive musical tracing the fragments of love that linger. And Dino Dimitriades brings their award-winning artistry to The Bleeding Tree, Angus Cerini’s bracingly funny, fiercely lyrical revenge tale, hailed as one of the most important Australian plays of the decade.
These productions showcase the talents of NIDA students across acting, music theatre, design, costume, make-up, props and effects, technical theatre, stage management, and set construction technologies.

Spring Season

Zindzi Okenyo brings forensic precision to Robert Icke’s The Doctor, a gripping moral thriller that exposes our unconscious biases with razor-sharp wit. Margaret Thanos directs Elinor Cook’s Image of an Unknown Young Woman, asking what we owe strangers in an age when a single image can ignite a revolution. And Rachael Maza AM brings a First Nations lens to Michael Gow’s Away – Australia’s most produced play – in a landmark 40th anniversary production. And Claudia Osborne directs Ravel and Colette’s spellbinding opera L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, a surreal fantasia in which a child’s tantrum sets the whole world against him.
These productions showcase students across acting, performance, design, costume, make-up, props and effects, technical theatre, stage management, and set construction technologies.
