NIDA acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we learn and tell stories, the Bidjigal, Gadigal, Dharawal and Dharug peoples, and we pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present.

2024 Student Production Season

The June season is supported by Nick Enright AM Estate.

The 2024 productions include a new multimedia work on the mother of cinema, four new operas that explore ideas of the mother, a story about the father of the monster and his resolve to create intelligent life, a new adaptation of the greatest play about teenagers, an Australian romcom about a teenager and a fox, a beguiling American musical about a bee, a towering play about race in America, and a play about a stupid f##king bird.

These eight productions are led by leading Australian and international professional directors and highlight the work of students from a wide range of disciplines.

Please join us to celebrate a new generation of Australian storytellers working across acting, music theatre, design, costume, props and effects, technical theatre and stage management, and set construction technologies.
