Locations

NIDA’s Schools workshops can take place at NIDA (Kensington or Melbourne campuses) or at your school in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory, Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania.

During school holidays there may some limitations on delivery.

Class size

Our maximum class sizes are limited to:

  • 16 students for Acting on Screen
  • 14 students for Stage Combat
  • 10 students for Staging/Entertainment VET workshops
  • 25 students for all other workshops

What to wear and bring to NIDA

  • Wear loose-fitting comfortable clothing that you can move in.
  • Wear closed-toed shoes. This is a WHS requirement.
  • Bring a pen and paper or electronic device for note-taking during class.
  • Bring a bottle of water.

Video recording & photography

Schools are welcome to take photographs of students participating in the workshop and film the work students create as part of the workshop. Schools are not permitted to film the tutor or the workshop in its entirety.

NIDA may photograph your group and publish these images in marketing materials and/or social media. Please notify NIDA when you make your booking if you do not wish your group to be photographed for this purpose.

Getting to NIDA

NIDA Sydney

Our Sydney campus is located on Anzac Parade in Kensington and offers state-of-the-art theatres and learning spaces.

Getting there

The L3 light rail Kingsford Line runs south from Circular Quay, with stops at Town Hall, Central Station and right outside NIDA on Anzac Parade.

Buses run regularly from Central Station, Green Square Station, Bondi Junction and various locations around the inner-city suburbs.

Parking

NIDA Sydney is conveniently located in Kensington and offers ample street parking options nearby. If you prefer parking closer, the UNSW parking lot (entry via Day Ave and south of the NIDA building) is free after 6:30 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.

NIDA Melbourne

NIDA Melbourne Open only hosts our NIDA Open and Corporate short courses.
Please refer to your enrolment confirmation email for your correct venue.

NIDA’s Melbourne studios are located in the heart of the action at 152 Sturt Street at the Guild Creative Spaces (opposite the Malthouse Theatre, down the walkway below the big, red flower sculpture) Only a stone’s throw away from the CBD, we are close to all forms of public transport and easily accessible by foot and bicycles too.
