It’s 26 January at a beachside camping ground and everyone wants the best spot.

Ricky has come with his mates to claim his connection to Country. But some vacationers reckon they got there first.

This cheeky, charged new comedy from one of Australia’s most in-demand writers is a special NIDA commission written especially for the graduating actors.

Nathan Maynard is Trawlwoolway, Pakana/Palawa man from Lutrawita/Tasmania. He was the 2019 Balnaves Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Fellow at Belvoir. His plays include The Season (including national tour), A Not So Traditional Story, At What Cost? for Belvoir, and he has been commissioned by Melbourne Theatre Company.

Liza-Mare Syron is Co-Founder and Senior Artistic Associate of Moogahlin Performing Arts, the leading First Nations theatre company in NSW. Liza-Mare has family ties to the Biripi people and is currently an Indigenous Scientia Senior Lecturer in the School of Arts and Media at UNSW.  Her directorial achievements include The Fox and the Freedom Fighters, The Weekend and Rainbows End.

NIDA alumnus Cris Baldwin is a diverse designer key collaborator and skilled fabricator across live productions, contemporary art exhibitions, and large-scale immersive installations working on productions such as The Drovers Wife with Leah Purcell, Fangirls at QTC and Belvoir.
