Financial Assistance to students through Centrelink

Eligible students, who are Australian residents, can apply to Centrelink for financial assistance through Youth Allowance, Austudy or ABSTUDY. Visit Centrelink or call 132 490 for more information.

NIDA Scholarships

Each year there are a number of NIDA Scholarships to assist enrolled students with living expenses or the payment of tuition fees, based on financial need. These Scholarships are made available through the generosity of donors to NIDA and from bequests.

Living expenses scholarships are paid on a fortnightly basis during the NIDA year, with the value of individual scholarships in 2020 ranging from $1,000 annually to $10,000 annually, depending on need and the year and course of study.

Details of the application process for Scholarships are provided to students at the start of the NIDA academic year.

Indigenous Scholarships

Luminis Foundation Indigenous Fellowship for Cultural Leadership

This Fellowship supports an Indigenous creative professional undertaking a Master of Fine Arts (Cultural Leadership) and funds 50% of the course fee. This Fellowship is made possible through the generosity of the Luminis Foundation. More information here.

NIDA receives support for Indigenous student scholarships from the ARA Group Limited, our Principal Partner for Property and Services. We are grateful to ARA for their support of scholarships and funding towards NIDA’s education and training.

NIDA also receives support through an individual donor towards living expenses for Indigenous students currently studying at NIDA.
