About Wern
Originally from Melbourne, Wern Mak is a Malaysian Chinese actor.
With few examples of Asian men on screen and stage when he was young, Wern decided that his mission was to change that.
His goal is to break the mould of what an Australian Asian actor can be and in doing so, attempt to inspire a new generation of young Asian actors.
While not knowing what the future holds, Wern wants to explore all the facets of himself, both through acting and in life, in order to tell the many stories that are yet to be told.
Wern knows that he’s only at the beginning of the journey, but is thrilled to be in an industry with room to grow, experiment, and inspire. He is ready to utilise all the skills and experience he has learnt from NIDA and make a positive change by doing what he loves.
