Sophy Simson

Sophy Simson is an aspiring milliner and costume maker. Sophy has previously completed a Certificate III in Millinery at TAFE in 2022 and recently she has completed a placement at Opera Australia in their Millinery department. With this experience and supported by vast knowledge from the NIDA costume Course Sophy’s skills and dedication to costume and headwear has grown. Sophy believes that headwear helps shape costume, character and world allowing someone to become truly immersed within narrative.

For her final major work at NIDA Sophy wishes to further investigate the impact headwear has on costume. Once she has completed her course Sophy wishes to pursue a career into theatrical headwear for both theatre and film.
