About Rebecca

Rebecca is a writer/director who can cross genres from drama to comedy whilst continuing to elicit authentic performance and emotionally affecting story. Her work explores the perception of women and their roles within societal constructs, specifically as defined by those in power. A graduate of NIDA’s MFA (Directing) program, she works across the mediums of stage and screen she has experience in both Australia and the US.

Her award-winning dramatic short films have been screened globally including at LA Shorts, NY Shorts, Cinequest, Flickerfest and Chicago International Shorts.

Directing in the action space, Rebecca’s 2023 action music video VEINS for hip hop artist, Oshua, premiered on RAGE for ABC TV, and won Best EDM and a Spotlight award at the California Music Video Awards. It was then screened on PBS across the USA. She has completed attachments on the Warner Bros/Netflix production TITANS, Sci-Fi Action-Adventure THE OSIRIS CHILD, HOME AND AWAY and also with action director Nash Edgerton.

Rebecca trained at the iconic comedy theatre, The Second City, in Chicago USA, writing, directing and performing at comedy theatres across Chicago including The Second City, improve Olympic (iO) and Laugh Out Loud. Her play ABIGAIL WILLIAMS premiered at NIDA’s Festival of Emerging Artists and is currently being adapted into a screenplay.

Rebecca currently has a number of screen projects in development. Whilst at NIDA she was the recipient of the Andrew Cameron AO and Cathy Cameron Scholarship.
