Naomi is a Filipino-Australian actor and singer. Born and raised in the Philippines to a family of doctors, Naomi discovered her love of performing at a young age. Like most Filipino kids, she began singing at her local church choir and actively joined singing competitions in her teens, winning her first singing competition at the age of 13.
At the age of 19, Naomi embarked on a solo journey to Australia and pursued a Bachelor of Nursing in Adelaide. Here Naomi joined her university’s theatre guild where she rekindled her passion for performing.
Upon graduating, Naomi worked in an intensive care unit to train as a critical care nurse but soon missed the feeling of flow and connection that she felt while performing on stage. Unable to resist her passion, she left her nursing career and moved to Sydney to pursue acting.
Naomi started taking weekend classes at NIDA Open and eventually decided to pursue full-time study in the Diploma of Stage and Screen Performance. During her time at NIDA, Naomi understudied in Tasnim Hossain’s production of Checklist for an Armed Robber and Lee Lewis’ production of The Royal Experiment.
Naomi can speak English and Filipino fluently and busies herself with Pilates, ballet and French classes. As a trans woman, Naomi is a strong proponent of LGBTQIA+ representation in the arts.
