Keeley Tennyson

Just like her beloved Mamma Mia, Keeley could dance before she could walk and sing before she could talk. Her first role was playing the trees, rocks and mountains in her elder sister’s nightly living room productions of the Sound of Music, where, thanks to her hard work and dedication she was soon promoted to Gretl, falling asleep on a staircase built of yoga blocks when the sun had gone to bed and so must she.

Her parents’ attempts to diversify their children’s interests by putting Keeley into soccer instead of dancing were valiant, but ultimately unsuccessful – her heart soon led her back to Michelle Slater Performing Arts studio in Melbourne, where she spent the next 16 years happily immersed in jazz, tap, ballet, acro and above all, musical theatre, with her highlight being cast as Elle Woods in their 2022 production of Legally Blonde. Even when 2 years of her training had to be via Zoom throughout Melbourne’s epic lockdowns, Keeley’s love of performing never faded, and culminated in her acceptance to NIDA, straight out of high school, and an incredible year of Sydney adventures.
