James Thorn

James is the youngest of five boys, and was raised between Melbourne and rural Victoria. He grew up riding dirt bikes on the farm and whilst at school learnt how to fence for a production of Hamlet.  

With a Diploma of Acting from WAAPA (2021), James is also a capable musician, learning piano up to grade 6 and teaching himself the guitar.

He grew up singing in various choral groups and has performed at Hamer Hall and St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne.

James is thankful to have trained under John Bashford, Glenda Linscott, Tom Heath, and Clara Voda. Whilst at NIDA, James was the grateful beneficiary of the Tim Fairfax AC Scholarship and the Mel Gibson and Village Roadshow Scholarship.
