Isaac Valentine is a set and costume designer with a passion for innovation and a deep respect for theatrical tradition. His work strikes a balance between classical forms and experimental design, drawing influence from Queer performance practice, Grotesque Buffon, Burlesque, Commedia dell’arte, and Butoh.
His credits include costume design for Orpheus in the Underworld (dir. Constantine Costi), set and props design for No Particular Order (dir. Nigel Turner-Carroll), and co-design of set, costume, and sound for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (dir. Clara Voda). He also designed triple j Unearthed: Pillow Princess by Jazzy Dale (dir. Esther Dougherty).
Isaac has created dazzling specialty costumes for cabaret performances internationally and continues to explore bold visual storytelling. He is especially excited to deepen his work in opera, ballet, and contemporary dance.
