Casey Gould

Casey Gould is a Naarm-based theatre director and dramaturge. His work encompasses theatre, musical theatre, cabaret and physical theatre. His work has won Green Room awards and won Fringe awards in Melbourne, Sydney and Edinburgh and has toured extensively throughout Australia and overseas.

He graduated from the University of Ballarat with a degree in Music Theatre and has since been back to direct students there. He continues to teach and lecture alongside his creative projects. He spent two years working in London participating in the Young Vic’s directors’ program. He is passionate about creating new work, helping writers develop their work and collaborating on new projects.

Beyond his creative work, Casey has played a pivotal role as an arts administrator, spearheading the development of Arts Centre Melbourne’s new data strategy. Casey is also a co-founder and company director of Music Theatre Workshop, a development company dedicated to fostering new work and collaborating on innovative projects.

His most recent production Little Squirt won best cabaret at Melbourne Fringe and the Edinburgh Fringe Tour Ready award.
