Alana Shootingstar is a creative arts professional with experience across higher education, live performance, festival production, touring, and comedy. She currently serves as Senior Course Coordinator (BFA Acting) at NIDA, following several years coordinating the Master of Fine Arts programs in Directing and Dramatic Writing.

At NIDA, Alana works across the operational delivery of academic programs and creative projects, supporting students, staff, and industry partners from admissions through to graduation. Her work spans project planning, curriculum administration, assessment, events, budgets, stakeholder engagement, and the countless moving parts required to bring creative work to life.

Before joining NIDA, Alana spent almost a decade producing live comedy and performance events, including producing the Gold Coast Laughs Festival. Her broader arts experience includes touring, venue operations, ticketing, artist support, and event delivery across a range of creative organisations.

Alana holds a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Film, Television and New Media Production) and a Bachelor of Human Services from Queensland University of Technology. Her professional interests include creative producing, project and systems management, artist development, and building environments where artists, students, and creative teams can do their best work. Outside of work, she enjoys choir, live music, watching TV and stand-up.
