Vale Keith Agius

NIDA would like to acknowledge the incredible career of acting alumnus Keith Agius, who sadly passed away in late January. Keith graduated from NIDA in 1986 and successfully worked extensively in Australia and overseas as an actor, director, and producer. Keith was an extremely proud NIDA graduate.

On stage, his extensive theatre credits included the UAE tour of Mr Stink (CDP), Henry V, the 20th Anniversary production of King Lear & Julius Caesar (Bell Shakespeare), Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors, The Tempest & Twelfth Night (Sport for Jove), Emily Eye-Finger (Monkey Baa), The Sneeze (Theatre Forward), Homebody/Kabul & Whore (B- Sharp, Belvoir St), The Herbal Bed (New Theatre), Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Comedy of Errors, & Twelfth Night (Night Sky), Alive At Williamstown Pier (Griffin), Often I Find That I Am Naked (Savage Wit), Conformity (World Interplay 97), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet & After Liverpool (Theatre Up North), Because You Are Mine (Red Shed), Ginger Meggs & the Missing Link (Victorian Arts Centre), The Adman & Heroic Measures (Playbox), Romeo & Juliet (Performers Independent), Wogs Out Of Work (Australian tour), Noel Coward in Two Keys & A Small Family Business (Marian St), Woman In Mind (STC) and Hamlet (Q Theatre).

Keith also enjoyed directing and his credits included Cymbeline, Macbeth and Tough Love (Sydney Theatre School), Something Wicked (The Actors Studio), Twelfth Night, The Comedy of Errors & A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Night Sky @ Grant Reserve, Coogee & Centennial Park), Pancake Tuesday (Short & Sweet), Often I Find That I Am Naked (Savage Wit - International tour) and The Golden Age (Doorstep Youth Theatre GPAC).

On screen, Keith featured in the highly successful Aussie horror cult film Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo, Crownies, Home & Away, Fireflies, All Saints, White Collar Blue, State Coroner, Blue Heelers, Phoenix 2 and Embassy.

Keith was a much beloved stalwart of the industry and will be sorely missed.
