NIDA Welcomes Hugh Baldwin as Director of Partnerships and Engagement  

NIDA has welcomed former television executive Hugh Baldwin (Acting, 1992) as the new Director of Partnerships and Engagement, strengthening NIDA’s commitment to growth and industry collaboration.

Hugh will lead NIDA’s ongoing connection with key partners, including industry, alumni, the screen and creative sector, supporting government engagement, as well as raising NIDA’s profile both locally and internationally.

Prior to the NIDA appointment, Hugh was Executive Producer of Development at Flying Bark Productions leading their After Bark slate of TV series and feature films aimed at adult and young adult audiences. He was previously an Executive Producer at sport-focused creative agency and production house, PostMatch.

He spent 15 years at Nickelodeon where he was Director of Television for Australia and New Zealand and led the content strategy for MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and Spike under the Paramount banner. 

Across his career Hugh has worked as a writer, producer, and journalist, as well as a consultant in the tech space. Hugh was a board member of Screen Tasmania for almost 10 years and is a NIDA BFA Acting alum from the class of 1992.
