NIDA Acting graduates take on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Outlander and Shakespeare
NIDA congratulates Acting graduates Rob Collins, David Berry and Genevieve O’Reilly on their upcoming roles on stage, TV and the big screen.
Rob Collins (Acting, 2013) is appearing as Lysander in Sydney Theatre Company’s upcoming production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by fellow NIDA Graduate and current interim artistic director at Sydney Theatre Company, Kip Williams. During his final year at NIDA, Rob auditioned for the Australian production of Disney’s musical The Lion King and went on to tour with the show for two-and-a-half years. STC’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream opens on 12 September.
Are you a fan of the global hit television series Outlander? Well, season three will feature NIDA graduate David Berry (Acting, 2010) who has just been cast in the pivotal role of Lord John Grey. A unique combination of science-fiction, fantasy and costume drama, Outlander is about a woman who travels through time from her post-war life in 1945 to the Scottish Highlands in 1743. Passionate romance, intrigue and adventure abound in the series, based on the best-selling books of Diana Gabaldon, and we are excited to watch David play a key role in the popular Scottish adventure.
LucasFilm’s highly anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits cinemas later this year and Genevieve O’Reilly (Acting, 2000) is reprising her role as Mon Mothma, the Rebel Alliance leader in the prequel starring Riz Ahmed, Felicity Jones and Mads Mikkelsen. Genevieve is currently appearing in SBS’s The Secret with James Nesbitt and has also appeared in The Legend of Tarzan, Episodes, Spooks, Day of the Triffids, The Honourable Woman, Diana: Last Days of a Princess; BBC’s Banished and ABC’s Glitch. She’s currently filming the ten-part TV series Tin Star with Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks. Check out the trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and look out for it in December.
Congratulations to Rob, David and Genevieve on their upcoming roles!
