About Yasna
Growing up in Darwin in the Northern Territory to an Italian mother and Macedonian father, Yasna’s passion for performance was fostered by her highly creative household. Beginning with ballet at age seven, Yasna went on to perform in back-to-back seasons of shows at Darwin’s Brown’s Mart Theatre and with Tracks Dance Company from 2011-2016.
After graduating from high school, Yasna studied a Diploma of Acting at WAAPA for one year. Upon its completion, she was offered a place at both NIDA and WAAPA’s 3-year acting courses, and chose to further her studies in Sydney.
In addition to acting and dance Yasna is also an avid horse rider, swimmer and tennis player, having participated in all of these sports competitively. Yasna and her family travelled extensively around the world throughout her childhood and teenage years, providing her with many enriching cultural experiences that have influenced her worldview to this day, with Egypt remaining a highlight of her travels.
In 2022, Yasna was cast in Daisy Anderson’s short film The Unrequited Life of Farrah Bruce. Filmed in South Australia, the short was produced by Anderson and Sarah Wormald.
Yasna’s deep love for performing on screen and stage has been enriched by her three years at NIDA, leaving her feeling extremely excited to enter the industry.
