NIDA acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we learn and tell stories, the Bidjigal, Gadigal, Dharawal and Dharug peoples, and we pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present.
Luca is a Sydney based artist who grew up on the Northen Beaches in the Gadigal National Park. With a background in metalwork, woodworking, and a certificate in automotive training, Luca has an applied knowledge of material science and mechanics.
As a result, he is able to design props, costumes, and practical effects that are influenced by this information. His desire to develop and explore characters and stories in the future is inspired by his appreciation of storytelling, particularly through visual mediums such as film and graphic novels. This fascination was channeled into his cowriting and directing of the puppet short film Monsters’ in 2021.
Moving forward Luca wishes to work in the film industry, focusing on specialty costume while also creating his own films and other mediums of storytelling through physical creations. This includes the ones that he has created throughout his studies at NIDA.
