NIDA acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we learn and tell stories, the Bidjigal people. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

We also wish to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across this country's sacred homelands, and in particular, students and other First Nations members of the NIDA community.

Christy Tran

Christy Tran
Born and raised in Melbourne, Christy’s passion for performing started when she was just three years old after her first dance class.

At the age of 12 she was accepted to study at the Victorian College of Arts Secondary School (VCASS) to further her skills in dance and performance. It was at VCASS where Christy discovered a love for acting and made the tough, yet rewarding decision to leave the dance program and pursue acting. Christy graduated from the theatre program at VCASS in 2018 before moving to Sydney to begin training at NIDA.

Earlier this year Christy was set to make her professional debut at Belvoir St Theatre in Michelle Law’s Miss Peony which is set to return to the stage in 2023.
