Angus is an emerging set and costume designer who was accepted into NIDA fresh out of high school.
During the HSC Angus built up a body of work in visual arts and drama with a focus on set design.
In 2019, Angus travelled to Europe for the Prague Quadrennial to gain insights into diverse international and contemporary design. Following this, Angus completed a secondment in New York City with NIDA design graduate Dane Laffrey. Angus worked as Laffrey’s design assistant and model maker on Tony Award-winning Once on This Island, now touring North America, and also on Witch, which premiered at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
In 2019, Angus designed and made the set and costumes for the music video of the single Robots by triple j Unearthed winner Friendless, and designed the set and costumes for A Respectable Wedding, directed by Tait de Lorenzo, for NIDA's Festival of Emerging Artists.
Next year Angus looks forward to further developing his design skills by starting his Masters in Design for
Performance at NIDA.
