Prior to studying at NIDA, Lauren attended Griffith University in Brisbane and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in sculpture. She developed her love for costume making through cosplay, constructing various ensembles for herself and others. In 2016–17, Lauren made costumes and acted as assistant and dresser for several NIDA productions, as well as completing original pieces as part of her studies. In 2017 she supervised De Profundis, a devised dance piece shown as part of NIDA’s Directors’ and Designers’ Graduating Productions. In 2018, Lauren supervised NIDA’s production of The Removalists and completed a secondment in Melbourne as a maker and dresser on Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical, directed by Simon Phillips. Next year, Lauren is interested in pursuing making and dressing roles across both live performance and screen. She has a special love for musical theatre, opera and other large-scale stage productions.
