NIDA acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we learn and tell stories, the Bidjigal people. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

We also wish to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across this country's sacred homelands, and in particular, students and other First Nations members of the NIDA community.

Deborah Sue Faye Lee

Deborah is a Sydney-based actor and writer. She was born and raised in Singapore and speaks fluent English and Mandarin. She once pursued a career as a radio broadcast journalist and wrote the daily news, but in a dramatic turn of events, she ditched the corporate life, packed her bags and moved to Australia to go to drama school.
Prior to this, Deborah worked in stage and screen in Singapore. She was a member of Singapore Repertory Theatre’s The Young Company and has worked with SRT and Wild Rice. She was also the lead in commercials of international brands which have been broadcast across Asia, including China, Thailand and Singapore.
A huge advocate for cultural diversity in the arts, Deborah is passionate about creating work that promotes multicultural narratives and increases the representation of Asians and other under-represented minority groups.
Deborah is forever grateful to her parents who have been unwavering in their support, despite being roped into this crazy adventure without warning.
A baking fanatic, Deborah has a list of go-to recipes with a high success rate which she will kindly share, if you ask. She is also, unapologetically, a massive fan of Masterchef and Survivor.
