From constantly being in dress-ups to building cubby houses that spanned through the rooms of her house, Georgia has always loved playing and creating. This passion followed her into her teenage years where she was heavily involved in her school drama department. After living in Thailand for eight years, Georgia graduated from high school and moved to Sydney to study Production at NIDA.
Her time at NIDA has been an amazing journey, the most important point being the discovery of her interest in sound. As such, Georgia has spent the past three years developing her knowledge in this field, with a particular focus on musical theatre.
In her third year, she was seconded to the two largest musical theatre productions in Sydney: The Lion King (JPJ Audio) and Strictly Ballroom the Musical (System Sound). These incredible opportunities have already led to employment, with Georgia working as a swing for both productions.
As the recipient of the 2014 Peter Baynes Memorial Scholarship, Georgia will be spending several months in London and New York interning with the best designers and engineers these cities have to offer. She hopes to continually develop her skills as a practitioner and contribute to the theatre industry worldwide.
