Melody is an emerging performer who grew up between sweltering Darwin and coastal Newcastle, an upbringing that exposed her to a wide range of people, environments and lived experiences. From an early age, she became fascinated by the idea that every passerby carries a life as rich and complex as her own, a curiosity that sparked her enduring passion for storytelling.
A naturally creative individual, Melody has always explored new hobbies and interests with enthusiasm, often rotating through them at a rapid pace. While her current experimentation includes an ongoing fascination with the many uses of buttons (with mixed results, including a particularly questionable water bottle), acting and singing have remained the consistent thread throughout her creative life.
Melody has worked across screen productions including For Real (Network 10), Significant Others (ABC) and Mate (Ten Alphas), building early experience in the industry. She later secured her first professional musical theatre role in Converted with Australian Theatre for Young People, an experience that inspired her to further develop her skills in musical theatre and pursue greater versatility as a performer.
Now committed to expanding her practice, Melody is undertaking training at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), where she continues to refine her craft across singing, acting and performance. She describes her time at NIDA as deeply fulfilling and is excited for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in her creative journey.
