Unlike most young people he’s met, from a very young age Charlie has always had the same answer any time someone has asked, “What do you want to do when you grow up?” Perform.
Raised in the Southern Highlands before a move to the Sunny Coast in Year 10, Charlie was born into a very theatrical family. Whether he was singing Wiggles songs as a toddler, tearing down the dance floor at primary school discos, or creating Oscar-worthy iMovie’s with his sisters, performance was always a natural and joyful part of everyday life.
At the same time, Charlie was encouraged to develop a passion for sport, both as a player and a fan, feeling as though he has spent all his life liaising the conflicting schedules between cricket coaches and musical directors!
After spending a gap year in England working as a primary school sports teacher, having to reprise the role of Willy Wonka in the school’s Year 3 Drama production reaffirmed what Charlie had always known—that his future lay in the dramatic arts; entertaining, inspiring, and connecting through sharing stories.
