Emile is a Sydney based Set Builder. His interest in the area was ignited when he was employed building sets for the feature film ‘The Fall Guy’ shortly after finishing high school.

Emile’s special interests include carpentry, metalwork, and stage mechanics. His skills across all aspects of set construction have been displayed through his work on numerous productions at NIDA.

He has found the course engaging and eye-opening. It has given Emile an understanding of set construction and all its components which is broader than he ever imagined.

Emile thrives on the challenges faced with each production as the problems, solutions, materials and skills required are never the same. Set construction is all about solving new challenges and finding innovative solutions to a deadline.

He enjoys working in a collaborative environment and understands what each member of the construction team contributes.

Emile has extended his industry knowledge and experience during all of his holiday breaks working on the construction and installation of a number of builds.
