A descendant of poets, painters and pirates – it is no surprise that Beatrice found herself with a passion for storytelling – and perhaps a flair for the dramatics.
As a former “leash kid,” she grew up bursting with energy, and could often be found in her garden singing to the gum trees or dancing along with the sea breeze. That energy was soon channelled into dance, cello, acting and singing classes, which continued throughout her teens.
Armed with half a law degree and her quiet self-assuredness, Beatrice moved from her hometown of Fremantle to study a Diploma of Musical Theatre at NIDA in 2023. The following year she was offered a place in NIDA’s BFA in Acting. Over her time at NIDA, she has grown as an artist, finding new loves in writing, physical theatre and devising.
With Dutch and Aboriginal Biripai heritage, Beatrice is excited to contribute to the telling of grounded Australian stories and continue creating in many forms.
