Driven by conceptual thinking and active dramaturgy, Leah Hall is a set, props and costume designer working across stage and screen. She values the intimacy of live performance, understanding that our relationship with our audience is at the heart of what we do.
In her hometown of Adelaide, involvement with local children’s theatre companies taught her the magic in the ordinary and art’s ability to foster community. Before attending NIDA, she studied Contemporary Art and is excited by materiality and interdisciplinary forms.
Inspired by our world’s textural details and the idiosyncrasies of human behaviour, Leah understands the power (and influence) of visual language. She enjoys the collective responsibility of theatre-making and working in devised methods. As her practice evolves, Leah hopes to continue to create work that is resonate, playful and experimental.
