Hamish first fell in love with performing when he discovered the dress-up box. Growing up on a farm in the Hunter Valley, NSW, he had the space to project and let his theatrical tendencies run wild (as well as almost setting fire to a paddock).
A skilled hands-on actor, Hamish is passionate about theatre, musical theatre, improvisation, stage combat, and accents. With drama teachers as parents, the arts were stitched into his life. His early training came through their youth theatre company, which had no dedicated stage, so Hamish cut his teeth in location theatre: performing in 200-year-old barns, vineyards, playgrounds, gardens, and galleries. These spaces demanded adaptability, risk-taking, and an instinct to trust the story, no matter the setting.
As a graduate of NIDA’s Diploma of Stage and Screen Performance, Hamish believes every production builds a temporary village, a family of artists working with trust, creativity, and purpose. For him, storytelling is a timeless legacy, a way to inspire empathy, spark connection, and celebrate our shared human experience. That is why he has chosen to make it his life’s work.
