Home Profile Charlie Edwards

Charlie Edwards

Charlie is an actor and musician from regional New South Wales, now based in Sydney. A graduate of NIDA’s Diploma of Stage and Screen Performance, he also trained at SAE and spent two years with Hunter Drama, where his stage work included Tommy Williams in The Shawshank Redemption.

Beyond theatre, Charlie has also acted in Newcastle’s thriving short film scene, gaining screen experience that complements his stage craft. Charlie also plays piano and guitar and performs as a singer.

Raised on a small property outside Wellington, where riding motorbikes and horses were part of everyday life, Charlie’s early creative exposure began with piano at seven and local theatre productions that first sparked his interest in performance. Relocating to the coast in 2018 opened professional pathways and led to focused study and ensemble work that strengthened his craft and range.

Charlie’s work is grounded in emotional truth and lived experience. The loss of his father in 2021 has deepened his artistic purpose, giving him a keen commitment to exploring complex human emotion on stage and screen. He brings sensitivity, musicality and a practical discipline to every role and is available for theatre, film, voice, and television opportunities.
