Jonah Stewart spent most of their childhood in transit – from Adelaide to Melbourne, from Canberra to the Solomon Islands, from Timor-Leste to… back where they started. It’s no wonder they find themself in a career about constantly transforming who they are.
Growing up on their parents’ favourite movies, including repeat viewings of Star Wars, Jonah first found their love for acting in grade 2 when they were let wild as the Mad Hatter for the school production of Alice in Wonderland. It wasn’t until high school, seeing State Theatre SA do Ray Lawler’s Summer of the Seventeenth Doll, that they knew that in front of an audience is where they needed to be.
Jonah has picked up some other tricks along the way too. They love games (on video or otherwise), are an origami aficionado and, with some luck, can solve a Rubiks cube in under a minute.
