Getting to NIDA
We advise the use of public transport.
The L3 light rail Kingsford Line runs south from Circular Quay, with stops at Town Hall, Central Station and right outside NIDA on Anzac Parade. Alternatively, there is a free public car park at the end of the L3 line at the Juniors Kingsford stop. This is two stops from the NIDA light rail stop.
Buses run regularly from Central Station, Green Square Station, Bondi Junction and various locations around the inner-city suburbs.
Parking and traffic conditions around NIDA can change. To plan your journey, visit Trip Planner for more information or phone 131 500.
Drop off zones
The ‘No Parking’ zone on Anzac Parade, directly outside of NIDA’s main entrance, can be used as a taxi, Uber or quick drop area (limit of 2 minutes). For safety purposes, drivers must remain in the vehicle and the use of hazard lights is recommended when stopping. Drivers registered under the NSW Mobility Parking Scheme may stop in the Drop Off zone for up to 5 minutes.
A 5-minute parking space on Day Avenue, approximately 20 metres east of Houston Road is available, for pick-up and drop off, approximately 300m from NIDA’s entrance.
Parking
Street parking options are available in the streets surrounding NIDA.
The UNSW multi-story Barker St Car Park is a 10 minute walk from NIDA and is available as paid parking from 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. All other times, including on weekends, the Barker St Car Park is free to the public. This car park has an accessible lift and 9 mobility parking bays. Visit Parkopedia for other paid parking options.
We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to performance and course starting times as it can take more than 10 minutes to park, get to NIDA and be seated in time.
Please note: The UNSW carpark on Anzac Parade is no longer available due to UNSW/Iglu’s construction, which commenced in October 2025. The construction period is estimated to be between 3-4 years.
