Siann Lau is a Chinese-Australian interdisciplinary artist based on Gadigal Land. Her work explores the intersection of costume making and stop-motion animation, weaving together tactile craft, imagination and storytelling with a sense of whimsy and wonder.
Siann began her creative journey with a Bachelor of Design in Animation at the University of Technology Sydney (2021), where she created comics, illustrations, and short films. Her passion for visual storytelling later led her to the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), where she immersed herself in costume-making and honed her skills in draping, art finishing and supervision for film and stage.
Her work has been featured in independent galleries, magazines, theatres, and film festivals.
