Shevon McCormack-Edwards (she/her) is an emerging interdisciplinary creative with a passion for all things theatre.
Growing up as a proud Nyikina woman, living on Wadjuk Noongar Land in Perth, Shevon has always had a love for the art of live performance. Having done Specialist Drama all throughout high school then going on to complete a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Performance at WAAPA her passion gradually pivoted from being on the stage to in the wings.
Over her three years of studying Technical Theatre and Stage Management Shevon has worked to learn and try every discipline she can to become as versatile of a creative as possible. Through trying everything she has developed a deep admiration for Dramaturgy and using design to create subtext and meaning for an audience.
Shevon leaves NIDA with the goal of working within her community to create works that not only highlight but uplift First Nation stories and performers.
