Born in Egypt to South Sudanese parents, Sam moved to Australia in 2004 with his family in search of a better life, a privilege he carries with gratitude every single day.

Acting wasn’t the plan. It was a risk. A leap. Sam took a chance on himself and discovered something deeper than performance, he found freedom and a language for emotions he’d never known how to release. Still, more importantly, he discovered what it meant, “To be Young, Black and Gifted”.

Sam’s parents are yet to see him act, but he only hopes that when they do, they say, “I see you”.
