Rashie loves acting very much.
The first in their family to pursue a creative career, the journey to NIDA has not been simple. Whether because of their mixed-race, immigrant status, confused gender, queerness, or neurodivergence, Rashie has always been considered a little weird. As a child she learnt to take that as a compliment.
Rashie is of Chinese, Indian, Turkish, Egyptian, and Indonesian descent, born to Muslim-Singaporean parents, and raised mostly in Sydney and a little in Singapore too.
More importantly, Rashie is a big fan of their cat – Scar, snails that come out after it rains, the books of Han Kang, Sylvannian Families, Sarah Kane, Anais Nin, Yoga, Bong Joon Ho, Tiramisu, Ben Whishaw, and poetry. Always poetry.
Rashie looks forward to entering the world outside the NIDA-website-dimension, where she no longer has to refer to herself in third person.
