To share the truth of someone else’s experience, especially the things all of us find too difficult, or vulnerable, or shameful to talk about, is both the responsibility and the gift of being an actor. 

Rashie was raised in Sydney and Singapore, as a queer, mixed race (Chinese, Indian, Turkish, and Egyptian) kid, the feeling of being the odd one out was always familiar. Luckily, art has always been there for them, and through their experience working with their teachers and peers at NIDA, they are grateful they can now give back to the world that has given them so much comfort. 

When Rashie is not acting, they love taking naps with their cat- Scar, reading the books of Han Kang, morning Yoga, making tiramisu, watching celebrity traitors UK, writing poetry, and pestering the people around them to go to karaoke with them. 

Rashie hopes that through the art they make – whether it be through writing, directing, or acting- they can make the world kinder and more understanding. They’ll also have a lot of fun along the way!
