Nicole Scharf

Nicole is a sincere storyteller who brings a nuanced perspective to the characters and worlds she creates. She is a valued collaborator who helps others find their voice and put it on screen.

In her own work, Nicole works across genres to tell stories of courage and determination.

Nicole produced and co-wrote for the 2025 Instagram series, Not Russian Anywhere. Based on the lived experience of comedian and creator, Annisa Belonogoff, the comedy series explored the hidden impacts of endometriosis on Australian women. The project was funded by Screen Australia
with support from Screen Queensland. It was awarded Best Comedy at the 2025 Australian Women’s Film Festival. Nicole has co-written two feature films with Belonogoff: a horror and a dystopian sci-fi. These films are currently in development with producers attached.

Nicole’s current slate also includes a horror feature exploring themes of gendered violence, an allegorical short film about coming-of-age as an autistic girl, and a comedy feature highlighting the absurdity of expectations on new mothers.

Nicole is currently completing her Master of Fine Arts (Dramatic Writing) at the National Institute of Dramatic Art where she is the recipient of the Prime Video Scholarship.
