Nicholas Horne has been in the theatre and film industry for over 15 years specialising in set construction, prop making, set decorating and theatre mechanist. Nicholas graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2011 where he studied the Props and Scenery course. He then relocated to Sydney eager to learn and gain experience.
Over his career Nicholas has had the pleasure to work for multiple theatre productions, theatre workshops and film/TV productions. Some of Nicholas’s previous positions have been Deputy Head of Set Construction at Sydney Theatre Company, Set Builder at Belvoir St theatre company, Mechanist on The Lion King Musical, Stand by Props on the film These final hours, set builder at Show works and a set builder at NIDA in 2014- 2016. Nicholas rejoined NIDA in 2024 as the Workshop manager where he oversees all operations in the Set construction workshop. His role is to ensure all students and staff can work in a safe and positive workshop and provide the best real world learning environment.
