Jaga Yap

Born to a British mother and Chinese-Malay father, Jaga grew up a local, in an inner-west home in Sydney. Proud of his Chinese-Malay heritage, he celebrates with his family regularly in the form of too many dumplings and spilled jasmine tea.

As a kid, he always gravitated towards the fun in life, whether that be playing games, sports, watching movies or annoying his siblings. Quickly, he discovered he found lots of enjoyment in playing pretend and performing for others.

Growing into himself, he learned the guitar, attained a black belt in Kung Fu, played multiple sports and found himself landing his first roles in film and TV (Babyteeth 2019, The PM’s Daughter, 2022-2023) – causing the decision to drop out of his architecture degree and pursue the tumultuous career of acting.

Jaga has since honed his skills at NIDA and learned things that he’s never thought available to him. He could not be more excited to take the next steps in his journey.
