About Hattie
Brought up in a rural pocket in west Meanjin/Brisbane, Hattie was raised by her mother who worked in the arts. This love of creative pursuits was gratefully shared with her children. Diagnosed with a learning disability at age four, Hattie is proud to be part of the neurodivergent community.
Hattie always found her jig; she began moving at the age of four, taking her first ballet class that sent her on a fourteen-year journey of classical ballet and contemporary training. Hattie was selected to train full time at Classical Coaching Australia (CCA) at age thirteen, and was home-schooled to complete her HSC. She joined Brisbane City Youth ballet company completing eight seasons.
Hattie shifted her focus to acting, which expanded her range as an artist, and allowed a sense of freedom to play. She applied for NIDA and was accepted at age eighteen.
During her time at NIDA she has developed a strong interest in physical theatre. She wants to carry on exploring and creating through writing, photography and film while continuing to seek stories that represent neurodiversity, disabilities and inclusion.
