A child of creativity, Ginger grew up in a house nestled at the back of a nursery in rural Victoria, where her dad grew plants and her mum collected antiques and neither saw a problem with a kid talking to fairies in the garden. With no TV or technology in sight, she built whole worlds in her bedroom, narrating stories to the walls and shapeshifting into whoever she felt like that day. She was raised on garage sales, gumnuts, and make-believe, and has been performing (unprompted) since she could talk.
At eight, she played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, wearing ruby slippers her mum made alongside the other misfit local kids in the Community Hall. She’s been hooked ever since.
Training at NIDA has cracked something open: a deeper love of language, presence, and play. These days, she brings that same curiosity and imagination to every role, still fuelled by the joy of pretending, just with better costumes.
