About Evelina
Born to Russian and Indian parents, Evelina was exposed to a plethora of diverse entertainment and performance opportunities from a young age. This included watching Bollywood films, which Evelina fell in love with for their epic stories and grand musical numbers. Her love for Bollywood made her passion for entertaining inevitable.
Raised on the Gold Coast, Evelina spent her time belly-dancing, playing piano and clarinet, and patiently waiting for the annual Eurovision Song Contest. To appease her cultural background, she became an avid chess player and chess-coach in local schools. Coaching sparked her interest in child development, prompting Evelina to graduate from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts and an Extended Major in Psychology.
In 2016, Evelina was awarded the John Bell Scholarship; a life-changing opportunity where she spent a week training at Bell Shakespeare HQ. This experience cemented her passion for performing and re-sparked her dream to train at NIDA.
Evelina is looking forward to applying her NIDA training to future storytelling opportunities, both on stage and screen.
