Chemon Theys

Born in South Africa and raised in Western Sydney. Chemon’s obsession began when a substitute teacher in year 9 suggested that she audition for Blue Mountains Musical Society’s Production of CATS by Andrew Lloyd Webber. After being strongly advised to focus on academic studies, she was fortunate to attend a weekly Musical workshop class in parramatta. Her first failed audition for a commercial musical at age 17 was not met with defeat but instead followed by training at NIDA in the diploma of Music Theatre in 2017.

Since then, Chemon was blessed with opportunities and representation in Sydney. Whilst battling self doubt, She is filled with gratitude for everyone who believed in her and supported her in the early stages of her career. Inspired by acclaimed artists like Georgina Hopson, Chika Ikogwe and the Australian Cast and Crew of Girl from the North Country. Chemon went back to NIDA to learn sustainable practices and life long lessons to take her to the next level in her career. Knowing that the industry is evolving and growing carbonates her spirit to stay creative and open to opportunities locally and internationally.
