About Amanda
Amanda is an outstanding maker who during her time at NIDA co-founded the Queer Committee, bringing NIDA to its first ever Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade. While studying she has been dedicated to honing her making skills, namely assisting to sculpt Venus De Milo for Venus in Fur (2018) and created several practical effects for SIX from 2020’s Digital Theatre Festival.
Growing up, Amanda had a great love for making and storytelling, often building and directing shows for the neighbourhood. After getting lost in the mundane world of adulting, Amanda chose to change the course of her life by studying production design at the Design Centre Enmore; where she invigorated her love for the arts and storytelling.
Amanda is passionate about new voices in Australian works and working in collaborative environments, where she thrives. She is looking forward to exploring the film, television, and theatre industries while continuing to develop her skills as a maker and creative collaborator, including creating her own work and content. She looks forward to continuing her learning post NIDA.
