Born and raised in Melbourne, Alex was always singing and dancing even as a toddler. Her parents realised she wasn’t tone deaf while singing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, and helped foster her innate desire to perform by enrolling her in dance classes when she was just three years old.
Throughout her early childhood, Alex enjoyed classes in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and hip-hop. However, this wasn’t enough for Alex, as she then started guitar lessons when she was 6, and singing lessons when she was 9.
With Alex’s world wrapped up in lessons, aspirations, and not a lot of free time, her mum took her to her first ever real audition – an open call for Cameron Mackintosh’s Les Misérables, and she was honoured to land the role of Little Cosette for the 2014 Melbourne and 2015 Perth seasons.
Having the experience of a lifetime at just 10 years of age, Alex knew she was hooked for life.
Abandoning any sports or other career pathways she had planned, she continued her professional career throughout her adolescence, working in multiple disciplines. Alex has performed in the children’s chorus of two Opera Australia productions, King Roger and La Bohème. A short film, Mrs McCutcheon, directed by John Sheedy. Theatre productions and TVCs. Now, when not performing, Alex is a creative collaborator, as well as a keen painter, particularly of local landscapes and skylines
