NIDA Celebrates Next Generation of Actors in Partnership with Australians in Film

The National institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is proud to announce a new supporting partnership with Australians in Film (AiF) in Los Angeles. The AiF partnership launches as NIDA’s graduating actors take to the stage and screen in the 2025 Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting Showcase for industry. The partnership will offer professional development and support for students and alumni looking to explore screen careers in Hollywood and beyond.

Providing industry pathways, opportunities to network and connections for students and alumni is a priority for NIDA. The partnership with AiF will open doors and offer support for NIDA graduates when they look to apply their craft in the US. As part of the partnership, NIDA will have access to space at AiF’s West Hollywood studio lot office to take meetings, as well as professional development, access to AiF’s programs and personalised support including one-on-one meetings prior to or upon their arrival in Los Angeles. The partnership will provide NIDA with networking opportunities including introductions to AiF’s extensive business and creative network.

This partnership will not only benefit NIDA’s 2025 Acting graduates but graduates and alumni across all NIDA disciplines; Design for Performance, Dramatic Writing, Directing, Costume, Specialist Make-up, Props and Effects, Cultural Leadership, Set Construction, and Technical Theatre and Stage Management who are looking to pursue careers in the United States.

Established in 2001, Australians in Film is a Los Angeles based non-profit film, television and digital content foundation whose mission is to increase the quality and growth of Australian creativity globally by opening doors in Hollywood, via professional accelerator programs, screenings, networking and industry sessions, both in person and online.

NIDA CEO Liz Hughes said, “NIDA’s reputation in Hollywood has been established over decades. We are keen to ensure that NIDA students and alumni have direct pathways into key global industry hubs. We are delighted to be working with AiF to support the NIDA community who are either working in LA or aspiring to do so”.

AiF Executive Director Peter Ritchie said, “We are genuinely excited about this partnership with NIDA. Our missions are closely aligned, and we share a deep commitment to supporting Australia’s finest creative talent on the global stage. As AiF enters a new chapter focused on creating more strategic and meaningful international professional pathways, this collaboration offers an ideal platform for NIDA graduates and alumni to thrive.”
