About the event

NIDA is Australia’s premiere institution for emerging dramatic artists, creating artists who define Australia’s cultural imagination by bringing powerful stories to life. NIDA is an acknowledged leader in the education and training of industry-leading actors, directors, designers, makers, technicians and creatives. We want to ensure that this imagination is informed by the extraordinary talents of the very best storytellers. NIDA must work hard to meet the costs of its annual operations, remaining relevant and meeting the needs of an evolving industry.

The Raise the Curtain event significantly contributes to NIDA’s Scholarship Program, making the dream of studying at NIDA a reality for individuals who would otherwise think it impossible due to their financial, personal, or geographic circumstances.

Funds raised will also support NIDA’s Training and Education, including Student Productions. These productions showcase students’ talents and provide them with the experience of working on full scale theatrical productions in preparation for their careers in the entertainment industry.

Silent Auction Items to be revealed.
