Designers & Makers Day

If you’ve started your application to NIDA or you’re planning to, our Designers and Makers Day on Friday 18 September is for you. It’s designed to offer a deep dive into NIDA’s behind the scenes disciplines; Design, Costume, Props and Effects, Set Construction, Specialist Make-up as well as lighting, and sound and video design in Technical Production; and features conversations with our expert teaching staff and students, access to NIDA’s creative working spaces and helpful tips for your portfolio and application.

Designers and Makers Day runs across two timeslots: morning (10:30 am – 12:00 pm) and afternoon (2:00 pm – 3:30 pm) — each including a welcome address, a guided tour of our workshops and studios, and time for questions.

When registering, you’ll be asked to select a discipline-specific session within your chosen timeslot. If you have an application or interest in more than one course, you can register for a session in both the morning and afternoon timeslots.

Our disciplines include:

Set Construction Technologies

Props and Effects

Costume

Design for Performance

Technical Production: Sound, Lighting and Video Design

Specialist Make-up Services

Registration is essential, places are limited.
