Kaitlyn Crocker
Kaitlyn is an emerging Sydney-based sound designer and composer working across contemporary art, sound art, installation, digital media, and theatre. She is interested in the intersection between performance art, storytelling and theatre.
She enjoys a holistic approach to design and her work explores a range of sonic ideas, techniques and methodologies tailored to each project including vocal processing, live looping and improvisation, non-traditional instrumentation, and the sampling and manipulation of prerecorded sound. Her work lends towards being sonically immersive and highly saturated.
The exploration of abstracting sound almost to the point of it losing existing meaning and finding hidden melodies and dramaturgy within the result is central to her practice. Kaitlyn is focused on exploring emerging techniques and technology to expand knowledge across her practice and work.
